Barney Floyd has been a professional musician since 1981. He is credited on four Grammy nominated albums and two Grammy winners.  

After graduating from Western Michigan University he spent years touring with many famed circuses — Clyde Beatty, Cole Bros., Ringing Bros., Shrine Circuses and many others.

After leaving the big top. Barney traveled with bands including Tex Beneke, the Glen Miller Orchestra, The Dorsey band, and Woody Herman. He toured in the pit orchestras of Broadway theater groups including 42nd Street, Dreamgirls, A Chorus Line, Man of La Mancha, Sound of Music, Annie, and many, many others.

Since moving to New Orleans in 1990, Barney’s credits include many of the best groups, artists and society bands to come out of New Orleans. He has a vast number of TV, movie and commercial sound tracks to his credit as well.

Barney is an original member of the 2010 Grammy Winner New Orleans Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Irvin Mayfield, and can be heard most Sunday's in the strolling trio at Commanders Palace in New Orleans.
