Jimmy Bowland has performed and/or toured with Jamey Johnson, Aretha Franklin, Kirk Franklin, Kenny Rogers, Sheryl Crow, Wynonna, Seth MacFarlane, The Temptations, The Four Tops, The O’Jays, Mary Wilson, Lady Antebellum, Debbie Boone, Father John Misty, Smokey Norful, Bob Hope, Don Rickles, The Funk Brothers, The Box Tops, Ray Price, Delbert McClinton, Nashville Symphony and Brenda Lee.

He has performed on TV and Radio for The 47th Annual Country Music Awards Show, the CMA Christmas Show, Lady Antebellum’s “On This Winter’s Night,” the Grand Ole Opry, Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Funk Brothers DVD “Live from Orlando,” the Dove Awards, Smokey Norful’s DVD “Live,” and the Gospel Music Channel’s “Gospel Dreams,” among others.

In Nashville studios Jimmy has accompanied Garth Brooks, Kelly Clarkson, The Clark Sisters “One More Time” (Grammy Award winner), Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens), Rascal Flatts, Shania Twain, Delbert McClinton, Motown Funk Brothers, The Mavericks, CeCe Wynans, Yolanda Adams, Sandi Patty, Dione Warwick, Linda Carter, Kelly Pickler, John Rich, Suzy Boggus, plus hundreds of projects of every description from motion picture and video game scores to jingles and artist demos.

He is an active clinician and educator, an experienced horn section arranger for live and session work, and musician contractor for projects of all descriptions.

Jimmy was born and raised in Paducah, Kentucky. He earned music degrees from University of Alabama and Michigan State University. After a five-month engagement in Japan he moved to Nashville where he currently resides
