Matt Casey began studying guitar at age 14 with his father, a professional guitarist from the Washington DC area. He played school functions and bars when he was too young to legally drink. He studied with John Pell while earning a degree in jazz guitar performance from Belmont University in Nashville.

Matt currently performs with his band Nationwide Coverage as well as others in the southeast including Black Jacket Symphony, and The Allman Brothers Band tribute act “Eat A Peach.”

The Allman Brothers Band has been a favorite of Matt’s practically since he picked up his first guitar…

“Duane’s slide and his straight playing still stop me in my tracks to this day. He is the king! I’ll never forget discovering their live at Fillmore album on a camping trip to Canada. I listened to that record for weeks in the car, and then while in the wilderness for 2 weeks “singing” all the guitar parts in my head. I’m so grateful that smart phones and social media didn’t exist then....I might have missed out on some seriously dedicated listening.”
